Harbour & May Residentials was founded to bring a properly professional approach to guaranteed rent — built by someone who buys, refurbishes and manages property directly, not just a name that arranges paperwork.
Our story
The name reflects both our home and our founder's name — Harbour, for the coastline running through Bournemouth, Poole and Christchurch, and May, from founder Teren Mayer. Where many rent-to-rent operators only manage on paper, Harbour & May Residentials has completed its own HMO conversions from planning through to compliant, tenanted properties — so the standards we apply to your property are the same ones we've already had to meet ourselves.
Founder
Teren Mayer founded Harbour & May Residentials after more than a decade of hands-on property investment, combined with a 15-year career leading large-scale change and risk programmes for major financial institutions. That background brought a rigorous, process-driven approach to governance, compliance and financial control — now applied directly to running a disciplined property portfolio.
Since 2013, Teren has built a personal property portfolio through buy-to-let investment, rent-to-rent partnerships, and — more recently — ground-up HMO conversion projects in Poole, Dorset. This includes successfully delivering an 8-bedroom HMO conversion and currently project-managing a 08 – bedroom conversion, from initial planning through to completion
